LoRa-based City Streetlight Control Solution

0ab37426e0387c98dd6e7e2b6385384bThis solution adopts a three-layer architecture: System Platform – Gateway – streetlight controller. The gateway communicates with the system platform via the cellular network (4G/5G), and the streetlight controller communicates with the gateway via LoRaWAN or LoRaMESH. LoRaWAN is widely used in city streetlight scenarios, where it adopts the LoRaWAN V1.0.4 and V1.1 protocol at the link layer and connects to the LNS service first before accessing the system platform at the network layer. LoRaMESH is mainly used in streetlight scenarios of towns or parks, where it adopts a proprietary protocol at the link layer and directly accesses the system platform at the network layer.

LiCON products for this solution:

  • SLC1 series plug-in streetlight node, with NEMA or Zhaga standard interface, directly plugged on the top of the luminaire.
  • SLG6 series gateway, hoop-mounted on the middle of the streetlight pole. Its site selection shall be evaluated, simulated and tested.
  • LiLAMP CMS, monitoring and control platform for city lighting, supports both on-premises deployment as a control center and cloud deployment as a cloud platform.
